One of the first perfumes we ever composed, the one that started my journey into fine fragrances long before SULAYM was even the House it is today, was a ghaliyah, a fragrance profile SULAYM has now become renowned for. That journey led me to source, test, and experiment with sandalwoods from all over the world. Australian, Mysore Indian, Tongan, Sri Lankan. Each has its own depth, its own colour, its own longevity, its own nuances.
Mysuru Orris is, at its core, an insight into in-house secrets we are now sharing with the world. This is not an attar, but it can certainly be worn as one. It's not a botanical, but it can certainly be used to complement, enhance, and layer with your other oils. This is a base accord of epic magnitude. Have you ever considered making a ghaliyah? This is the base. Have you ever wanted an accord to amp and ramp your attars? This is the base. Have you ever wanted to add something to your current fragrances that brings out all the beautiful nuances hidden behind them, giving a new level of complexity? This is the base.
Mysuru Orris is vintage Sultani Mysore Sandalwood (1990s), infused in epic proportions with Orris Germanica butter, then refined and balanced using Jasmine Grandiflorum and Wild Malinau (2023). The result is phenomenal. The ultimate sandalwood base. Pheromone in a bottle. Once it gets into your nose, it holds on for hours. Layer it with your favourite fragrance and it explodes the sillage and longevity. Wear it on its own, and it creates curiosity and demand from everyone in proximity.
Mysuru Orris has only lived inside SULAYM HQ, behind closed doors, in our own experiments. It was never meant to leave. Now it has. What you do with it is up to you.
