DESCRIPTION
This is probably the most sought-after oud of our generation. Considered the greatest oil to ever come out of the Sultan’s atelier. Words don’t do it justice, because in the end, they’re just words. They don’t describe how this oud interacts with your olfactory system.
So what makes it one of the greatest ouds ever experienced?
Its profile.
Its transitions.
How addictive it is.
And then there’s its age. Over four decades of quiet maturation, deepening, refining, turning it into something you simply cannot recreate in our time. A relic from the 1980s, untouched, unrepeatable.
Its rarity is absolute. Not just rare in number, but rare in nature. A type of Oud that no longer exists in the wild, no longer appears in the market, no longer reaches this level of refinement. Once this fragrance is gone, I worry that this chapter of history will be closed forever.
It ticks every box whether you’re a vintage-oud lover or new gen, whether you like earthy ouds or clean. It has everything you could ask for.
Imagine if Purple Malay and No.1 Burmi came together. The opening is a beautiful dry jasmine musk note. There are elements of purple kinamic incense, a blue Burmi-like base, and then the Maroke DNA in the drydown. The crystalline kinamic incense note carries through the entire journey. Imagine the highest-grade Papuan wood on a subitism. There is an underlying orris-velvet note that makes this oud so unique.
And it lasts all day. Not in a loud, aggressive way, but in that addictive, “I need to keep experiencing this again” way. The kind of longevity where you find yourself lifting your wrist without thinking, just to chase that next note, that next shift, that next moment.
I highly recommend that every oud collector should have at least 0.25grams of this, as a reference for life. An anchor. A benchmark. Something you can always return to whenever you want to remind yourself what the ultimate standard actually is.
It’s an absolute honour to present this fragrance to our SULAYM family, a reminder of what the pinnacle of oud truly feels like.
