DESCRIPTION

We've been working hard behind the scenes to produce something truly special for our dedicated and loving customers. Many hours and sleepless nights have culminated in the creation of an extraordinary box set that contains five of the rarest HM Sultan Qaboos oud oils, which we will be releasing later this year.
We want you to experience what we have been savouring for the past few months—a journey of notes, facets, and quality that current or future distillations simply cannot replicate. Possessing these oils is a profound honour for SULAYM. I often reflect on how this opportunity came to be, and with gratitude to the Most High, we are now able to share these precious oils with you. Presented in unique 0.25 gram bullet vials, which allows you to truly savour and experience each exceptional fragrance.
1. HM Badshah: Distilled in 1981 and handpicked from the Sultan's private atelier. This is the Hindi which was gifted to dignitaries and Royals visiting the Sultanate. The wood used for this distillation is believed to be from Haflong, Assam. Notes of incense, rum and wild flowers. You will find facets in this oud which you will not have experienced in Hindi's of the last decade. HM Badshah is a refined version of HM Royal Hindi (Meghalaya) which is now sold out. A vintage, wild Hindi of impeccable quality. RRP: $749 (3gr)
2. HM Royal Cambodi: From Pursat, this oud’s exact distillation year is unknown, but it is believed to be over 40 years old. Picture dense, thick, red resin, oozing with fruity and jammy notes, drying down with Cambodi wood on low heat and then add 40 years of aging to the equation. This oil embodies an exquisite and richly matured aroma that is truly exceptional. RRP $699 (3gr)
3. HM Royal Laos: Distilled in the 90s, this oud is truly one of a kind. The Sultan's atelier features various Hindi and Burmi distillations, but this is the only oud that wears the Laotian badge. I reviewed this oil with a famous French perfumer for its notes, quality and finish and it ticked all the boxes; Let this exceptional oil serve as the reference standard for Laotian oud. $699 (3gr)
4. HM Muateq: I recall Faizal's reaction when we first sampled this oil together—I knew from his personal taste that this was the one that would make him lean back in awe, and I wasn't wrong. This is undoubtedly the most unique, transitioning HM Malay we have ever encountered, almost as if it were a Malay/Cambodi co-distillation. Named Muateq to honour the label given by our friends close to the Palace, this is their Jummah choice of oud. RRP $799 (3gr)
5. HM Sultan Qaboos: Burmi, 1979. That's right, this oils carries the name of the Sultan himself, may God's mercy be upon him. Imagine SULAYM Nº 1, our flagship oud, jacked on steroids. That's the shortest way to describe this fragrance. You have to smell it to believe it. This oil is what I describe as the Sultan's signature. Everyone has a favourite and this is the standard that AJ Industries must have been given for all future distillations. Imagine this batch being one of the earliest oils you distill for the Sultan. It must have been very difficult to follow. The best ouds in the Sultan's collection carry this DNA but this is the Mothership, the originator, the full fat, most incense-laden oud you will find in the Sultan's atelier. RRP $999 (3gr)
All of these oils will be released throughout 2024 for general sale, but this is your exclusive opportunity to put all five ouds in your collection first. I wouldn't class this as a sample pack. It's an opportunity to keep a lifetime reference for some of the greatest and rarest ouds of our time.

"I often find myself wondering how SULAYM has access to the Sultan's exceptional collection. Wild agarwood is nearly impossible to come by today, and even if you do find it, distilling it would seem like madness. Would anyone really use wood worth $20,000 in today's market to just make a few grams of this calibre of oud? It requires the resources, passion, and connections of a monarchy for this to make sense. These oils are truly a gift from a bygone era. It's quite possible we may never again encounter fragrances and notes of this calibre again. I am deeply grateful to the Sultan to experience some of the greatest ouds of our time."
