DESCRIPTION

First unveiled by SULAYM in 2023, HM Muateq was never meant to be rushed. After its debut as part of the Heritage Collection, the oil was set aside, allowed to age, breathe, and fully reveal itself over an additional three years. What you hold now is the result of that patience.
Open the flacon and the first thing that greets you is time itself. That unmistakable signature of a Sultani oil, the smell of age, deep and lived-in, the kind that only comes from up to forty years of maturation. It is a note that cannot be manufactured or imitated. It simply is.
HM Muateq is, without question, one of the most significant ouds SULAYM has ever released, standing alongside Purple Malay and Maroke 1982 at the very top. An argument could be made that this oil is a co-distillation of the same wood that gave those ouds life. Its presence is total. Even from the neck of the vial, it commands the room, a full, immersive force that takes over the senses before you've even properly begun. Age has rendered this oil thick and slow-moving; watching it trail along the glass is its own quiet pleasure.
The profile is immense. Deep, resinous, and incense-laden, it moves through leather and dark plum, tigerwood and red Malay & Cambodi, with an aquatic blue current that lifts and projects through the entire profile. There is no barn, only the faintest whisper of fermented fruit. No crystal brightness, instead an ambergris nuance, weighted with smoke from fumigating wild Malaysian wood.
Every person who has encountered this oud has been stopped in their tracks. Not one exception.
We have said it before and we will say it again: we are approaching the end of an era. Wild oud of this calibre is not a renewable process. The forests that gave it life, the decades that shaped it, the hands that preserved it, all of it converging in a single vial. Add four decades of aging and this transcends the analogy of a fine wine that has aged well. It goes beyond that entirely.
This is oud at its most noble. At its most royal. At its absolute pinnacle.
To Sultan, thank you, once again, for the extraordinary privilege of experiencing something this absolute.
Availability is limited. All 1gr and 2.5gr vials come presented with a hand-made exotic wood Black Wenge lids, each crafted by hand by an award winning master artisan and sealed with a real bronze, hand carved top. 0.25g samples are housed in a unique bullet vial, perfect for keeping safe in the vault.
