DESCRIPTION
Ambergris has fascinated alchemists for generations. Its origin, once shrouded in mystery, evoked wonder. Old texts recount mystical theories: some believed it was a plant growing on the seabed, consumed by marine animals. Others speculated it was dew falling from sea islands, carried by the waves, or even a secret spring hidden deep in the ocean. Such myths were born from humanity’s awe before something so rare and extraordinary, it seemed to demand an otherworldly explanation.
When composing Elysium, I wanted the fragrance to embody that same sense of mystery and reverence. More than just a scent, it had to be an experience. Something that overtakes your mind and olfactory system, something physical and spiritual at once. Purple blackcurrant incense laced with wild Filipino oud, drenched in florals, and swimming in an ocean of ambergris. That was the vision.
And now, with the Édition de Musc, the vision reaches its peak. Musk has enhanced the entire composition. The ambergris, macerated with musk, now carries the unmistakable flavour of a ghaliyah. The wild Filipino oud strikes sharper, more piercing than before. Florals that once bloomed in the open are now cast beneath a musk veil. The Royal Ta’ifi rose shifts closer to the grandeur of Royal Jardin. And the incense dry down? Louder, heavier, more unrelenting.
This is not a flanker, not a reiteration It is Elysium, but turned up to full volume. The intensity that musk has drawn out makes you realise this is probably how Elysium should always have been.
Elysium, in its final form.
